Accommodations near Chautauqua Institution - modern amenities, fine furnishings, privacy, spaciousness - with the assistance of the National Historic Trust and the Landmark Society of Chautauqua County we were able to move the Captain Storm House to Candlelight Lodge property           (click on pictures)

An 1851 brick Victorian mansion located in the heart of historic Westfield, New York on two landscaped acres - Candlelight Lodge became a New York Lodge in 1920 and a Western New York Country Inn in 1986 - 7 spacious suites not rooms with elegant antique furnishings - ideal for a single night or longer term vacation getaway.

The Captain Storm House was moved to Candlelight Lodge B&B property, an Inn -  four large suites, large country kitchen, and modern Kohler garden baths -  offering individual accommodations or for a special price, the entire house as a vacation rental - a welcome addition to Candlelight Lodging.

Policies

• Reservations for certain suites at the Inn may require a two night minimum on major holidays, special summer and Wine Trail Weekends.
• There is a discount for longer term stays or special accommodations.  In using the  Reservations and Availability link with Webervations please also contact us directly by telephone at 1-716-326-2830.
• Children over 12 are welcome, sorry no pets.
• Smoking is permitted on the patio and outside porches of both of our Landmark  Inns.
• Check - In: 2 - 5 PM      Check - Out: By 11 AM - Keys may be picked up after 1 PM Arrangements between 5 and 8 PM for late check-in must be made in advance. Please call if you cannot make the agreed reservation time.
• Included in your room rate is a $6 breakfast certificate per person which is good at any of five local restaurants. This certificate is valid at Jack's near the lighthouse and pier on Lake Erie at Barcelona Harbor. Barcelona on Lake Erie is our best kept secret. This certificate is also valid at the Main Diner in Westfield, two blocks away from our B&B - an original classic 1950's diner, or Cafe Barista, also two blocks away from our Inn, for wraps, scones, gourmet coffee and wireless,  or Bo'Nar's in Mayville NY, five miles away on Chautauqua Lake near Chautauqua Institution.
• These restaurants specialize in breakfast and serve from 7 AM to 11 AM.      Choose a different scenic restaurant each day. Enjoy what you prefer - early morning or late. If not a breakfast fan, you may also use the certificate for lunch.

Rates

• Seasonal rates at the Inns are $85 to $200 per night, double occupancy, plus tax.
• A single person may deduct $10 per night excluding special rates, holidays and weekends.
• Only one discount or special rate may be applied to your room rate.
• Special and weekly rates at our Country Inns do not include breakfast.
• Breakfast is optional, you may deduct in advance, $5 per day per person off rates where appropriate.
• For catered small parties, receptions, etc. -  40 to 50 people, please inquire. We offer a reduced rate for reserving all of Candlelight Lodge Bed and Breakfast and/or the Captain Storm House. We can also  assist you with flowers, catering, limos, wine and Special Wine Event Tickets (discounted) as well as other services that you might need.

Deposit

• One night's deposit in advance or 50% of the reservation, whichever is greater - Visa, Discover, or Master Card. We charge your credit card immediately.
• Final payment upon arrival by cash or personal check please.

Cancellation Policy

• Two week cancellation notice for refund of room deposit less a $20 cancellation charge per night.
• You are responsible for the entire length of your reserved stay.
• If we are able to re-rent the room within the two weeks, your full deposit minus the $20 cancellation charge will be refunded to you.
• If unable to re-rent within the two weeks,  50% of the balance of your reservation will be charged against your credit card. You will receive a gift certificate for this additional amount towards a future stay minus a $20 cancellation fee. Gift certificates are for one year and our cancellation policy we hope is helpful.
• Wine Trail  and Special Packages, we ask that you take full responsibility for your reservation considering additional needs such as purchasing tickets, etc. in advance. If able to re-rent, all or part of the reservation will be returned, minus the cancellation fee.

Summer Season is $50 off the third night. You are not required to stay both Friday and Saturday nights.  Includes breakfast.

$40 off third night in the off season. Please remember Sunday - Thursday is already discounted.

Example - Mahogany Suite with real gas log fireplace

$110 Saturday, $95 Sunday, and $55 Monday night  -  Total $260.

Rate does not apply on certain weekends and holidays

Depending on availability in the off season, we also offer a rate to rent the entire Inn for a special occasion (includes breakfast). Rate: $750 per night weekdays, $900 per night  weekends (Fri, Sat) Candlelight Lodge will accommodate 18 people maximum.

The Captain Storm and or Parisian Suites may be rented in the off season for a single night for an additional $35 each if booked within 72 hours of your arrival.
