| Originally an 1851 Victorian mansion, Candlelight Lodge was established as a Western New
York Country Inn in the 1920's and a Chautauqua County Bed and Breakfast in 1986, long
before B&Bs were fashionable. Candlelight Lodge is located on two landscaped acres in the
heart of the village of Westfield New York, the only B&B within the
village - walk to the Village Park, antique shops, stores, restaurants, and gift shops. Within
one block are convenience stores, banks, a full service grocery store,
medical center, post office and pharmacy for any additional needs.
Candlelight Lodge Bed and Breakfast is one mile from Lake Erie
and five miles from Lake Chautauqua and Mayville New York. A Chautauqua
bed and breakfast, our Country Inn is within fifteen minutes of
Chautauqua NY and Chautauqua Institution.
Westfield is nationally known
for its antique shops, historic homes and wineries. Six wineries with
wine tasting are within four miles of our Western New York Bed and
Breakfast.. Candlelight Lodge is located in the absolute center of the
Chautauqua Lake Erie Wine Trail ( 40mi. ) -
there are 24 wineries within 20
miles of Candlelight Lodge in Lake Erie Wine Country Candlelight Lodge is also 1 mile from the new New York State Wine
Museum, " Grape Discovery Center."
Our Country Inn offers seven spacious suites (450 sq. ft. average),
two with additional bedrooms - queen beds, private baths, elegant
antique furnishings, table, desk, DirecTV, Wireless, climate control,
mini-refrigerator, coffee machine, and microwave. Four of our larger B&B
suites are appropriate for longer term vacation rental having mini -
kitchens, sitting areas, etc. Four of our suites also have gas log
fireplaces and no wide angle photography is used. Cozy comforters, Victorian wallpaper and
lacy drapes all add to the warmth and charm of each room.. An additional
four special private
accommodations are also available next door at the Captain Storm House
individually, or for a special price, the whole house. We offer breakfast at two unique
locations in Westfield within 2 short blocks of our Inn or you may enjoy
breakfast on either Lake Erie (1 mi.) in Barcelona next to the oldest
gas Light House on the Great Lakes or breakfast on Chautauqua Lake (5 mi.). Each
of these four locations specialize in breakfast and if you are not a breakfast fan our restaurant certificate can
also be used for lunch. Enjoy breakfast when, where and what you prefer.

its businesses and meet its

Our Country Inn can accommodate an extra guest in either the Pine or
Rebecca's Suites for an additional charge. The Renaissance Suite also
allows for a special price with the adjoining Lincoln bedroom. We furnish
our suites with fine antiques as well as modern decorator amenities and
also own one of the

in the Chautauqua county experience, whether it's a dinner
cruise on Chautauqua Lake, a balloon ride over Lake Chautauqua,
tickets for a special concert at Chautauqua Institution, a Lake Erie fishing charter or diving on a Lake Erie
shipwreck we can help you. Nearby is Chautauqua Institution, 15 minutes
away, known
worldwide for its summer cultural programs with concerts, lectures and famous entertainers. One
mile from our B&B is Barcelona Harbor, Pier and the oldest Lighthouse
on the Great Lakes, Westfield's best kept secret.
Numerous artists have tried to capture its New England charm.
Barcelona offers fishing charters, boating, or diving on one of
the many Lake Erie shipwrecks. You can find smoked whitefish, salmon, shrimp, fresh perch, pike and trout at Westfield Fisheries,
Jack's for breakfast or lunch and Zebro's for dinner. There is
also skiing at nearby Cockaigne or Peek'n Peak, 30
minutes away in the winter. Westfield has local bike trails, hiking along Chautauqua Gorge
and 5 scenic
golf courses nearby for your enjoyment in the summer.
Several New York fine dining restaurants
are also within a few miles of Candlelight Lodge.
Westfield
Memorial Hospital is one block away and the Westfield Physician's Center
is just across the street from our B&B. The McClurg Chautauqua
County Museum and Patterson Library are two short blocks from our bed
and breakfast with self guided walking tours of Westfield's historic
architecture. Westfield and the local wineries also sponsor many
special weekend events throughout the year - the Westfield Arts and
Crafts Festival and the Westfield Antique Show in July. The wineries'
have 7 Holiday Wine
Weekends - Wine and Chocolate, Wine and Cheese, etc., 3 of which are
free. There is
Cross Roads (4 mi.), a nearby farm and craft market and a Farmer's Market in the
Village Park on Saturday
mornings just two blocks away from our Country Inn, Westfield also has nearby
Amish farms and craft shops, Within a few miles of our Country Inn we
also have art galleries and pottery shops to explore. Experience the new
Art Trail Annual Open Studio Tour and visit with local artisans. Nearby
Fredonia NY, has SUNY at Fredonia and the Fredonia Opera House. In Jamestown,
NY, there is the Lucy-Desi Museum and the Roger Tory Peterson Institute
and Audubon Nature Center and Sanctuary. Lastly, there is
Lily Dale on Cassadaga Lake (20 mi.), the largest group of mediums and
spiritualists in the country with many summer programs. Lily Dale has
recently gained national prominence being featured on
HBO over the last 2 years.
