Originally an 1851 Victorian mansion and a lodge since the 1920's, Candlelight Lodge was established as a New York Country Inn and Chautauqua County Inn in 1986. Located on two landscaped acres in the heart of the village of Westfield New York and surrounded by antique shops, stores, and gift shops. Within two blocks are also several restaurants, gas station/convenience stores, fast food stores, banks, a grocery store, medical center, post office and pharmacy for any additional needs. Candlelight Lodge is a B&B both near Lake Erie and near Lake Chautauqua New York. Candlelight Lodge, a Chautauqua bed and breakfast, is within one mile of Lake Erie and 5 miles of Mayville NY and Lake Chautauqua - fifteen minutes from Chautauqua NY and Chautauqua Institution. Westfield is nationally known for its antique shops and historic homes and has five wineries with wine tasting within four miles of the Inn open to the public along the Chautauqua Lake Erie Wine Trail (30 miles). Candlelight Lodge is located in the absolute center of our local wineries - there are 21 wineries within 15 miles of our Country Inn.

We encourage you to participate in the Chautauqua county experience, whether it's boating on Chautauqua Lake or Lake Erie, a balloon ride over Lake Chautauqua, a dinner cruise on Chautauqua Lake, a Lake Erie fishing charter or diving on a Lake Erie shipwreck. There is skiing at Holiday Valley, Cockaigne or Peek'n Peak, less than 30 minutes away in the winter. There are local bike trails, hiking along Chautauqua Gorge and several scenic golf courses for your enjoyment in the summer months. There are six New York fine dining restaurants within six miles of the Inn.

Westfield Memorial Hospital is one block away and The McClurg Chautauqua County Museum is three short blocks away with self guided walking tours of Westfield's historic architecture. Westfield and the local wineries also sponsor many special weekend events throughout the year such as the Westfield Arts and Crafts Festival in July and the wineries' Wine and Chocolate and Wine and Cheese weekends as well as several Holiday Wine Weekends. There is Cross Roads, a farm and craft market open on Saturdays in Westfield, Barcelona Harbor and Pier and nearby Amish farms and shops. Within a few miles of our Country Inn there are also art galleries and pottery shops to explore. Nearby Fredonia NY, has SUNY at Fredonia and the Fredonia Opera House. In Jamestown, NY, there is the Lucy-Desi Museum and the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and Audubon Nature Center and Sanctuary.

Our Country Inn offers with the Captain Storm House next door eleven spacious suites (400 sq. ft. average), queen size beds, private baths, elegant antique furnishings, tables, desks, DirecTV, AC, mini refrigerators, coffee machines, and microwave ovens. A few of our larger B&B suites are more appropriate for longer term vacation rental having mini - kitchens. Cozy comforters, Victorian wallpaper and lacy drapes all add to the warmth and charm of each room in the Inn.

Our Country Inn can accommodate one child over 12 in either the Pine or Rebecca's Suite for an additional charge. We furnish our suites with fine antiques - we are one of the major antique dealers in this part of the nation.
