Candlelight Lodge bed and breakfast is an 1851 brick Victorian mansion located on two landscaped acres in the heart of the village of Westfield in Western New York - within walking distance of antique shops, restaurants, stores, and gift shops. Within two blocks of our Country Inn are also convenience and fast food stores, banks, a grocery store, medical center, post office and pharmacy for any additional needs. Candlelight Lodge B&B is also in the absolute center of the Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Trail(30 mi.). There are 5 wineries within 4 miles of the lodge and a total of 21 wineries within 15 miles. Candlelight Lodge, a Chautauqua County B&B, is within one mile of Lake Erie and 5 miles of Chautauqua Lake and 15 minutes from Chautauqua NY and Chautauqua Institution. Candlelight became a New York State Lodge in 1920 and a Westfield New York Bed and Breakfast in 1986.
Our Country Inn Inn offers seven spacious suites not rooms (over 450 sq. ft. average), ideal for a single night or longer term vacation getaway. Candlelight Lodge suites have elegant antique furnishings with tables, desks, queen size beds, private baths, AC, DirecTV, wireless, mini refrigerators, coffee machines and microwave ovens. Cozy comforters, Victorian wall paper and lacy drapes all add to the warmth and charm of each room.
Candlelight Lodge B&B has a guest parlor, dining room, large reception room, sun room and a large covered patio for your enjoyment on summer evenings or for private gatherings. The Lodge has 12' ceilings upstairs and down, spiral walnut staircases, interior columns, inlaid floors, magnificent arched windows, ornate woodwork, cast iron appointments and seven fireplaces. 10' high windows look out on wonderful views of the surrounding two acre grounds. On certain Friday afternoons from 4 to 6 in the summer we offer hors d'oeuvres with wine from local wineries to our arriving guests at the inn.
With the moving of the Captain Storm House next door to Candlelight Lodge property we now have four large additional suites with modern Kohler garden bath and showers, offering fine accommodations as a Chautauqua bed and breakfast. As a Bed And Breakfast for the night, a romantic getaway, or longer term vacation rental, the Captain Storm House makes a wonderful addition to Candlelight Lodging. For anniversaries or other small gatherings the two B&Bs, Candlelight Lodge and Captain Storm House, together or separately are ideal.
Ed and Wilma Benjamin owners of Candlelight Lodge, a Chautauqua New York bed and breakfast also own Landmark Acres Antiques, a nearby antique shop since 1946 and one of the largest and oldest single owner quality antique shops in this part of the nation. Landmark Acres Antiques is located in a large historic barn on the oldest settled property in Chautauqua County(1802).

We encourage you to participate in the Chautauqua County experience, whether it's a dinner cruise on Lake Chautauqua, a balloon ride over Chautauqua Lake New York, a fishing charter, boating or diving on a Lake Erie shipwreck we can help you. We are 5 miles from Chautauqua Lake and 15 minutes from Chautauqua Institution. One mile from our Westfield B&B is Barcelona Harbor, Pier and early Lighthouse on Lake Erie. Barcelona is Westfield's best kept secret, picturesque New England charm which many painters have tried to capture. There is skiing at Holiday Valley, Cockaigne or Peek'n Peak, less than 30 minutes away in the winter. There are local bike trails, hiking along Chautauqua Gorge and several scenic golf courses for your enjoyment in the summer months.
For the less adventuresome there are seven local antique shops and five wineries with wine tasting all within four miles along the Chautauqua Lake Erie Wine Trail (30 miles). Candlelight Lodge is located in the absolute center of wine country - there are 21 wineries within 15 miles of our Country Inn. Several New York fine dining restaurants are also within a few miles.
Westfield also has many special weekend events throughout the year such as the Westfield Arts and Crafts Festival in July and the wineries' Wine and Chocolate and Wine and Cheese weekends. There is Cross Roads, a farm and craft market on Saturdays with nearby Amish farms and craft shops. There is birding - please remember this area is a migration corridor for raptors. Within a couple of blocks of the Inn are several antique shops, gift shops and restaurants. Within a few miles there are also art galleries and pottery shops to explore.
Westfield Memorial Hospital is one block away and The McClurg Chautauqua County Museum is two short blocks away with self guided walking tours of Westfield's historic architecture. Nearby Fredonia, NY, has SUNY at Fredonia and the Fredonia Opera House. In Jamestown, NY, there is the Lucy-Desi Museum and the Roger Tory Peterson Institute and Audubon Nature Center and Sanctuary.
For many of these experiences we can offer you help in planning your vacation and assist you with the details. We have been residents of Chautauqua County for over 30 years and have operated Candlelight Lodge Bed and Breakfast as a vacation rental since 1986 and Landmark Acres Antiques since 1975, an antique shop established in 1946. Whether a local New York wine, a bottle of Dom, a Bordeaux (we collect wine), a limo, flowers, tickets, or a special restaurant, we are happy to assist you.

Westfield NY is less than two hours from Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Rochester and Niagara Falls.
